Project Story
All Under One Roof updated the kitchen & both bathrooms of a home in Eudora, Kansas, in 2020. The kitchen kept its cabinet boxes, drawer boxes & slides, & gained new doors & drawer fronts throughout, a rebuilt stove wall with new upper cabinets & a hood cabinet, & new lighting.
Refacing where it made sense
The existing cabinet boxes were sound, so the scope went where it shows: paint grade flat panel doors with soft close hinges, slab drawer fronts & new pulls on every existing cabinet. New cabinetry went in only where the layout changed, built with plywood boxes & poplar face frames: the stove wall uppers, a hood cabinet over the range, a new lower cabinet & floating shelves. The backsplash is white subway tile with a herringbone panel framed behind the range.
Ceiling & lighting
A kitchen fixture was moved & six recessed lights were cut into the ceiling, then the ceilings were patched, skimmed & refinished in a knockdown texture so none of the repairs show.
Two bathrooms
In the bathrooms, prefinished vanities & counters went in, a floor was relaid & the rooms were trimmed out with new base & door hardware. The master bath has a walk in shower in large format tile with a pebble floor, a recessed shelf niche & a frameless glass door. The hall bath has a tub with white subway tile to the ceiling.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the consultation process work?
Our consultation process starts by the clients filling out our consultation request form. We then call you to talk through your project. If the project requires a site visit with any of our consulting staff, such as our architect, engineer, or interior designer, we will likely request a consultation agreement to be signed & approved, & that site visit work is billed at $85 an hour. If you can provide site photos & measurements, or your own CAD drawing, we are glad to review it without a site visit.
Does All Under One Roof take small jobs?
Yes. All Under One Roof takes jobs of any size, from small jobs through to structural renovations, custom home additions, exterior remodeling & outdoor living spaces. Every job starts the same way, with the consultation request form.
Can kitchen cabinets be updated without replacing them?
Yes, when the boxes are sound. In this Eudora kitchen the existing cabinet boxes, drawer boxes & slides were kept, & every cabinet got new paint grade doors with soft close hinges, slab drawer fronts & new pulls.
What is the difference between refacing & replacing cabinets?
Refacing keeps the cabinet boxes & replaces what is visible: doors, drawer fronts & hardware. Replacing takes the boxes out too. This kitchen used both, with new doors & fronts on the existing run & new cabinets only on the stove wall.
Can recessed lights be added to an existing kitchen ceiling?
Yes. Six recessed lights were cut into this ceiling & one fixture was moved, then the ceiling was patched, skimmed & given a knockdown texture so the repairs do not show.
